Our Vision.

We stand in the shadow of Dr. Dawn Bohulano Mabalon’s seminal book, “Little Manila Is In the Heart,” a life’s work dedicated to bringing the story of a marginalized community and generation out of the margins in order to understand the inequities of the past to provide context to the present, and inform our path to the future. Our experience as an organization has led us to understand that the issues historically marginalized communities face are interwoven within each other and that we share great challenges together. We believe that it is impossible to move out of the margins as separate individual groups, we must move together. In order to achieve our mission, we must contribute to create a renaissance within marginalized communities in Stockton. In no particular order, this is Little Manila Rising’s contribution to this renaissance:
